Dream Bureau

As a member of Althelstan Sound I performed as part of Dream Bureau at Turner Contemporary on 1 November 2019. The work involved interpreting graphic scores drawn by members of the public. I played a semi-modular synthesiser, the Make Noise 0-Coast.

NOW Digital

I took part in the NOW Digital strand of the Margate NOW arts festival on 26 October 2019. NOW Digital was organised by Nicola Schauerman and Tim Pickup.

With Tim Pickup interfacing modular synth with Processing language on Tim’s laptop via Rebel Tech Open Sound module and OSC protocol.

Crowley Calling

I contributed a set of soundscapes to this mixed media group exhibition of work influenced by occultist and magician Aleister Crowley at the Electro Studios Project Space in St Leonards on Sea from 27 – 29 September 2019. This was part of the Coastal Currents Arts Festival. ‘The ominous atmosphere of the show was further enhanced by Martin Tanton’s foreboding aural soundscape. His darkly ethereal refrains played parallel to the transcendental tone of the work on display.’ – Mia L, Hastings Independent.

As I Walked Out

I contributed a sound work ‘Four Walks’ to this show with a walking theme which ran from 16 August 2019 to 21 August 2019 at the Pie Factory Gallery in Margate.

Littoral Light II

I’m pleased to have taken part in this wonderful show on the beach between Ramsgate and Dumpton Gap on the night of 28th July 2017. My sound installation was in a sea cave and my sound work ‘Littoral Light’ was created for this show. Over thirty artists participated and the event attracted a crowd of hundreds.
